     Originally conceptualized as a bedroom recording project, Train Conductor quickly mutated into an active band performing in Albuquerque, New Mexico. The first shows were in 2009 and the first album, Dark Territory, came out in 2011. There have been 20 releases since then, including the psych-rock album Gold Cuffs, which was a split with fellow Albuquerque locals, BALLETS.

    Over the last decade, the project has evolved from those lo-fi roots into a seven-piece ensemble. This growth culminated in the 2025 release of Feeling Town, which pairs the band's signature psych-pop grit with the cinematic brass of the Brasstronauts.

    Welcome to Feeling Town.

    This record is the next sonic trip, but the process was a unique journey in itself. We honed the entire sound of the album by touring it live first, letting the songs naturally breathe and evolve on the road.

    When the time came to record, we opted for an intense, capture-the-moment session: 10 hours direct to 2-inch tape at The Echo Lab in Denton, TX. This raw, analog process was crucial for getting that rich, noisy, and full sound—it's all about committing to the performance.

    After the core tracks were laid down, the album kept traveling. Will Byrne took the individual tracks and handled the initial mix back in Albuquerque. From there, he sent his mixes to Nathan Walter (also at The Echo Lab) for the next stage of engineering and mixing (El. Graveyard), before finally landing with Chris Anderson (at Clock Work Onions) for final mixing and mastering.

    Put it on repeat, let the whole thing wash over you, and just feel it.
